Thursday, my cousin decided we should all go out with her to find a suitable casket and make sure she is buried next to her mom. In all there were six of us shuffling awkwardly around her in the funeral home – seven when her boyfriend showed up to pump out the tea, water and broth from her small intestine.
She’d been fighting a losing fight with appendix cancer which had spread to grow a tumor completely blocking off her small intestine. Anything she ingested had to be pumped out. (more…)
I’m usually one of the first people who defend the allegedly elitist, leftist, out-of-touch, communist Hollywood types when one of them decides to make some kind of statement about politics or whatever.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, right? If you really feel strongly about something and you have an opportunity to advance your agenda or help a cause you feel deserves your help, then who can fault you for that.
Also, a lot of times I agree with them: like when Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie went to New Orleans and adopted all those kids from all over or George Clooney speaks out on Darfur. However, I always have a problem with folks who makes their decisions based on what a celebrity’s public stance might be. Come on, I’m not going to cast my vote for whatever guy who used to play president says I should. I digress …
Thumbs up if you're a douche
Literally, a douche is a medicinal application intended to sanitize the vagina. Douches actually kill off the naturally occurring bacteria that fight off infection and disease. Even though their ineffectiveness is widely known, douches are still in common use today. Douches merely mask the symptoms of conditions for which women should seek medical attention.
So a douche is something kind of gross that doesn’t really do anyone any good at all and still manages to hang around somehow.
Every day we hear more and more people referred to as douches, douche nozzles, douche bags and so on, but what does that mean? Can you tell if you are sitting next to a douche? Are you a douche?
