Glenn Beck
Over the last month or so, I’ve been mesmerized by what I’ve been seeing and hearing out of Glenn Beck’s show on Fox News. Granted, a lot of his show is dedicated to expressing his opinions to which I do not typically agree. That said, there is more and more coming from that show which is just plain crazy, inaccurate and down-right entertaining!
CARS Paranoia
This is a clip from YouTube showing how the content from Glenn Beck’s program is starting to resemble forwarded email hoaxes.
Beck attempts to prove that the federal government seizes control of your computer and virtually everything else you own after you agree to the Terms of Service (TOS). He skips past some security policy language dismissively and tells folks to “get ready for it,” but “it” never comes. The pop-up he’s built this whole segment around doesn’t pop up. Obviously the CARS website, they conclude, is over-priced and unreliable so let us all continue as if we saw what we said we were going to see and carry on.
I found plenty of hoax-buster sites that had already seized on this, but the best explanation of CARS’s controversy was at FactCheck.org. To be fair, Beck updated his commentary a few days later, but not by much.

His panel can’t even get on board with him on this and spend most of the clip trying to keep their jaws from hitting the floor.
Almost all of Beck’s paranoid fantasy comes from John Holdren having previously written on population control and outlined many different strategies to handle the growing problem. He tries to include other “roots” as radicals, but it all comes back to the misleading interpretation of one man’s work from over 30 years ago.
Beck Loses it On the Radio
This one is from the Bill O’Reilly show and shows a clip of Beck on his radio show in an argument with a caller in which goes nuts.
Can’t really add much to this one. Beck blows his stack on the radio and O’Reilly calls him on going off on a liberal caller and says that some might describe his outburst as a “tantrum.”
